Sanchez and Mustafi Give Wenger Derby Delight

Stay here for live results and analysis for all Football matches. Complete scores and schedule. Two first half goals in the space of  five minutes from Alexis Sanchez and Shkodran Mustafi gave Arsenal their first home win over their North London rivals, Tottenham, since 2014. Mauricio Pochettino would have hoped that his big guns could have re-created a similar performance to the one they managed in their 3-1 win over Real Madrid but that was not the case. Harry Kane and Dele Alli were restricted to very few sightings of Petr Cech’s goal as Arsenal’s 3-4-3 formation nullified the Spurs’ front line so much so, that Kane and Alli were both replaced in the 75th minute. Arsene Wenger went with his strongest possible eleven with Ozil, Sanchez and Lacazette forming a seriously formidable front t...

I am really not ready to play,” he said. “I really fought a lot during the match knowing probably it was a big chance that it would be the last match of the season. Switzerland Through after N.I Heartbreak

It’s always disappointing when the referee is the main talking point from any game and unfortunately this was the case last Thursday. Northern Ireland will feel heavily aggrieved after German ref, Felix Brych, awarded Switzerland a highly controversial penalty in the first leg of their World Cup playoff at Winsor Park. In the 57th minute of the second half, Brych pointed to the spot after he adjudged Corey Evans to have handled the ball in the area. Replays later showed that the ball clearly struck his shoulder which incensed Michael O’Neill and his players. After the goal, the Northerners threw everything they had at the Swiss but couldn’t find a way through and disappointingly didn’t even have a shot on target. After the game, all the analysis centred on the big decision in the second ha...

Britain’s Andy Murray hopes to make his competitive return in Brisbane in January following a hip injury, but on one condition – only if he is 100% fit. The British No. 1 lost 6-3 3-6 10-6 to world No. 2 Roger Federer as part of a charity event in Glasgow on Tuesday. It was the first time Murray, 30, had played in public since he lost to Sam Querrey at Wimbledon in July. “I am in a significantly better place than at the end of Wimbledon and in the build-up to the US Open” said Murray. Murray, who has now slipped to 16th in the latest world rankings, said he was confident of getting back to full fitness, but admitted that it could take time for him to find his best form. However, fo...

Stay here for live results and analysis for all Football matches. Complete scores and schedule. El tormenta Strikes for Conte’s Men A brilliant second half header from Alvaro Morata was enough for Chelsea to claim all three points against Manchester United on Sunday. The unmarked Morata rose highest to head home César Azpilicueta’s brilliant cross which condemned Jose Mourinho to his third loss in three visits to Stamford Bridge since taking charge of the Red Devils. A lot of talk before the game was focusing on the relationship between Conte and Mourinho after a war of words erupted throughout the week surrounding the sale of Nemanja Matic and Conte’s behaviour in this fixture last season. Mourinho slated Conte for his behaviour with the crowd as he watched his side slump to a 4-0 hammeri...

Goals from Tyler Toffoli (2), Tanner Pearson with three assists, and Michael Amadio scored his first NHL goal to help Los Angeles to a 5-3 win against the Maple Leafs at Staples Center on Thursday. “I think we came out right away and we played really hard and played fast and played our game” said Los Angeles forward Adrian Kempe, who had chipped in with an assist on the night. Auston Matthews scored his 10th goal which happened to be his fir...

The Spaniard, who has risen from ninth at the start of the year via French and US Open victories, advanced 7-5 6-3 in one hour and 48 minutes. “The most important moment of the year was the clay-court season and winning a 10th Roland Garros title here”, he told the crowd with his on-court interview. The 16-time Grand Slam champion is the oldest man to finish a season at the top of the rankings at the age of 31, having previously achieved the feat in 2008, 2010 and 2013. Stay here for live results and analysis for all hockey tournaments. Complete scores and schedule. St. Louis Blues beat the Calgary Flames 5-2 at the Scottrade Center on Wednesday. That was mainly down to the return in form of The St. Louis winger Alexander Steen. The Canadian-born Swedish winger, who missed the first six games of the season with a broken thumb, busted out with a goal and three assists to help the Blues to a 5-2 win over the Calgary Flames. “I think we simplified things a little bit more,” Steen said. “We were more direct in the way that we played, and I think we were a step quicker than we have been too. Those things contributed to us getting more goals and obviously more chances. It was good, even the ones we didn’t score. There was a lot of momentum pushing forward...
